I know that I haven’t posted anything lately. Not because I haven’t wanted to post or haven’t had the inspiration. I’ve been busy.
The last time that I posted anything was nearly four months ago. I have written a few things or ten between then and now, but hadn’t felt the need to post them.
So here I am now wanting to provide an update.
Two weeks after my last post, I applied for an internal promotion within La-Z-Boy. Another week later I had my interview. Then on July 5th, while on vacation with my sisters and their families, I was officially offered the position.
Two weeks after getting back, I was to start my new role in Columbus, OH. As you can imagine two weeks to find a new home, pack, arrange moving trucks and all of that from two hours away while still working full time is quite the whirlwind. Luckily enough, I managed to get it done. Found a new apartment only a mile from work, got packed, and had the moving truck loaded within an hour. All said and done, loaded, unloaded and unpacked within five hours.
Two days later I started my new job with a ferocity and desire to excel. So far I have done well. I had doubts about my ability, but honestly I have doubts about everything I do.
