Excited!

So lately I’ve been praying for clarity? A lot to do with where my life is headed and guess what, I’ve gotten some.

For the past month I have been in talks to do a solo show in cooperation with the Constella Arts Festival. About a month ago, I was contacted by the artistic director of Constella Arts to extend an invitation to do a solo show with one of their musicians. You see last year when my senior show was on display in the NKU gallery, they had a concert. She saw my work and liked it. She obtained my contact information and wanted to extend the invitation to be a part of their spring series.

Needless to say I’m honored and over the moon excited.

Since then I have been waiting to hear if my work is for sure going to be on display after I submitted a compilation of my images. Well the other day, I heard and I’m in.

Now I have to put on the finishing details like sending them my artist biography, head shot and images. Then I need to get some new frames and mat board to re-frame the pieces I sold from my show last year. And business cards! I also need to get all of my work up on here. Then wait for the walk through to see what is going to be the best way to hang my work and install. After that I can hopefully relax at the event and fingers crossed sell some work.

I’m excited and kind of terrified. For the first time, I am showing work not as a student but as an emerging artist. I’ve mentioned previously that life is an unyielding journey that brings the surprise and joy of life. For me this is one of those surprises. It also serves as a validation that yes I am on the right journey.
